Afro-punk star releases highly anticipated album ‘About 30’
Nigerian born singer/songwriter ADEKUNLE GOLD is fast becoming a household name making waves globally with his distinct sound. The Afro-Urban artist releases his highly anticipated album following a string of successful hit-singles including ‘Money’ and recent release, ‘Ire’.
‘ABOUT 30’ echoes a true reflection of his journey exploring topics such as love, loss and various relatable life experiences throughout the album. His eclectic sound blends together forming a distinct yet mesmerising sonically journey. The 15-track album boasts a number of collaborations with some of the industry’s finest including Seun Kuti, son of late singer Fela Kuti, Flavour and British singer-songwriter, Jacob Banks. With the track list beginning at #17, continuing the story from his first album which had 16 tracks on it.
The acclaimed singer’s debut album ‘Gold‘ was released in 2016 and debuted at number 7 on the Billboard World Charts. He has since released several chart-topping hits including ‘Call on Me’ comes after his successful summer hit ‘Only Girl’ which featured UK artist Moelogo.
Ahead of the album launch, ADEKUNLE GOLD has spent the best part of this year gracing the stage at highly reputable events including Coachella, SXSW, Gidi Fest and Ted Talks Euston.
The Afro-punk songster gears up for his headline show at the Indigo O2 on the 29th of June 2018 with his band the 79th Element.
