MOROCCO TO BE FEATURED COUNTRY AT Forum Afrique Expansion 2017 “INVESTMENT AND BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES IN AFRICA” OCTOBER 2&3, 2017 AT MONTREAL’S SHERATON CENTRE

Montreal, July 13, 2017 – The Sharifian Kingdom has been selected as the featured country for the upcoming edition of Forum Afrique Expansion, to be held October 2 and 3, 2017. Accordingly, an important delegation is expected at this one-of-a-kind North American business gathering, and participants will have an opportunity to discover the immense resources and vast potential of this country that is experiencing rapid growth and well on its way to economic emergence status.

Forum Afrique Expansion’s organizers are very pleased and honoured by this presence, given that Morocco captures the quintessential spirit of the event. Spearheading the country’s participation in Forum Afrique Expansion, Maroc Export will form the core of the mission. Acting as a trading hub, the agency promotes exports of all kinds of products (industrial and agrifood among them) and services, with the exception of phosphates and their by-products, tourism and handicrafts, which benefit from organizations dedicated specifically to them.

Forum Afrique Expansion is an influential international gathering of Canadian and African businesspeople that is organized by Afrique Expansion Magazine with support from the African Development Bank. Its chief aim is to provide tools and innovative approaches for developing private investment in Africa, by inviting African project bearers to Canada. Since its inception, the event has consistently been a top-calibre platform for investors interested in Africa. It attracts over 500 participants, among them heads of companies, senior decision makers, Canadian and African public officials, and representatives of non-governmental organizations and international bodies.

“By 2019, the African economy is expected to grow 7.7% annually, twice the rate of the world’s advanced economies. With population on the rise and the growth of household income and purchasing power, Africa is seen as a particularly attractive market for consumer business enterprises, according to a survey by Deloitte. Forum Afrique Expansion helps North American, and especially Canadian, businesses latch onto this momentum, for Africa is the future,” explains Ms. Amina Gerba, president of the Forum Afrique Expansion organizing committee.

Forum Afrique Expansion 2017’s programming includes seminars and workshops, as well as a Gala Dinner evening during which awards of excellence will be handed out to those companies and individuals that have made exceptional contributions to Africa’s development over the past two years.
