Voxafrica TV is looking for a Programming Intern to join its 3 channel team. Your main responsibilities will be to help the programming co-ordinator and scheduler in their daily activities.
Voxafrica is the 1st bilingual pan African channel, with feeds in English and French across Africa, France, Belgium Switzerland and the UK.
Main Task and Duties
- Checking and Updating EPG for Sky channel
- Sending weekly planner to scheduler
- Responding to internal and external requests from programming team
- Watch and assess new content for the channel
- Bilingual English and French
- Degree in Media or Television related degree or currently at University.
- Interested in pursuing a career in television
- Previous experience in Television
- Good Knowledge of Excel.
- Can easily adapt to new software and databases.
You will need to be able to demonstrate excellent organizational, administrative skills and attention to details.
The internship is varied and interesting. It ultimately offers a first glimpse of the Television industry and provides valuable training within a leading independent International Channel.
This Internship will be based in our London HQ and will be unpaid for a 3 months period with possibility of growth within the company.
This is not a production role.
- Edit pictures with the ability to use PhotoShop or any other picture editing software
- Encode / Edit videos in a web compatible format (MP4, FLV, H.264 ...)
- Web design skills
- Knowledge / understanding of SEO/SMO
- Knowledge of MODX (Or any other CMS)
Candidate must have either a Diploma or above; and/or practical experience in community management and/or web development. Also French language desirable but not essential. Candidates will be required to work at our London HQ. This role will initially start as a paid internship with the prospect of a permanent contract. The bilingual journalist is responsible for preparing and presenting the News and / or to anchor information magazines, under the authority of the Editor in Chief.
English must be your first language (spoken and written). They will also review and edit reports in an environment constantly under time pressure.
Applicants must provide evidence of extensive experience in journalism and broadcast presentation (TV and/or radio) for at least 5 years, have an excellent knowledge of African issues, an essential curiosity in journalism, leadership qualities and a good team spirit. Autonomy and taking initiatives in respect of the authority will be highly appreciated.
The position is based in London but international experience is a plus. During the casting held in London for the shortlisted applicants, the selected candidate will be subject to a recruitment procedure in several steps including interviews, tests and writing speed.
