Cuban Ambassador to Seychelles Martha Hernandez Caneiro and Minister Counsellor Tomas Mendez Parra attended the Annual Diplomatic Cocktail hosted by the Seychelles Minister of Foreign Affairs and Tourism Sylvestre Radegonde.
In attendance were President Wavel Ramkalawan, Speaker of the National Assembly Roger Mancienne, Chief of Defence Forces Brigadier Michael Rosette, Ministers, members of the Diplomatic and Consular Corps and officials from the Department of Foreign Affairs, among other guests.
In his speech, Minister Radegonde reaffirmed Seychelles’ position in favour of a more equitable and sustainable world order, “based on cooperation, dialogue, solidarity and respect for the sovereignty of nations, in the face of a rapidly changing global scenario”. He also referred to the principles guiding the country’s foreign policy, reflecting the values, culture, aspirations and principles of the Seychellois people. He also expressed his gratitude to the Diplomatic and Consular Corps for their continued support in advancing cooperation between Seychelles and their respective countries and institutions.
The occasion was the occasion to welcome as the new Dean of the Diplomatic Corps Ambassador Francesca Alessandra Azais Tatistscheff of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta, who in her speech pledged to work with the other members of the Diplomatic Corps to “strengthen the ties between our missions and enhance the already excellent cooperation with the Government of Seychelles in all fields”.
The meeting was an excellent opportunity to exchange with the Chancellor, colleagues from the Diplomatic Corps and distinguished guests.
