Japan: Message of condolences from Foreign Minister Hayashi Yoshimasa on the flood damage in the Democratic Republic of Congo

Following the floods caused by torrential rains that occurred on 12-13 December in the Democratic Republic of Congo, which resulted in the death of many people in the city of Kinshasa and caused extensive damage, Mr. HAYASHI Yoshimasa, Minister for Foreign Affairs, delivered the following message of condolences to H.E. Mr. Christophe LUTUNDULA APALA Pen’APALA, Vice Prime Minister, Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

“I am deeply grieved and saddened to learn that many precious lives were lost in the recent floods caused by torrential rains in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. I would like to express my heartfell condolences to those who lost their lives and my sympathies are with their bereaved families. I sincerely pray for the quick recovery of those who are affected as well as the prompt reconstruction of the affected areas.”
