Kenya -Trans Nzoia County takes steps to reform health Sector: Cabinet Secretary for Health meets with Taskforce

Trans Nzoia County is taking important steps to reform its health sector and improve the quality of healthcare services offered to its residents. On Monday, the Cabinet Secretary for Health, Dr. Nakhumicha S. Wafula, received a courtesy call from the Chairperson of the Trans Nzoia Health Taskforce, Dr. Ferdinand Nang’ole, and Mr. Peter Murumba to discuss the ongoing health sector reforms in the county.

The health sector reforms in Trans Nzoia County aim to address the challenges facing primary healthcare facilities, improve their quality, and ensure that residents have access to quality and affordable healthcare services. The Ministry of Health has pledged its support to county governments in achieving these goals, providing technical and logistical support, and equipping primary healthcare facilities.

Speaking about the ongoing health sector reforms, Dr. Nakhumicha S. Wafula said, “We are committed to working with county governments to ensure that all Kenyans have access to quality and affordable healthcare services. Trans Nzoia County’s efforts to reform its health sector are commendable, and we will continue to collaborate with them and other counties to achieve our shared goal of providing quality healthcare services to all Kenyans.”
