Meeting with the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Sudan, Indonesian Ambassador Sunarko Encourages Strengthening Cooperation in the Training of Indonesian Junior Judges - Sudan

In order to strengthen bilateral relations between Indonesia and Sudan, especially between the judicial institutions of the two countries, the Indonesian Ambassador Khartoum Sunarko was accompanied by PF. Pensosbud on Monday (20/3) paid a visit to the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court (MA) of Sudan, Abdel Aziz Fathal Rahman at the Supreme Court Building, Khartoum. Also present to accompany were Tariq Khalil, Chief Justice (Administration) and Salahedin Ali, High Court Judge and staff.

The meeting discussed strengthening the close cooperation between the Indonesian Supreme Court and the Sudanese Supreme Court, especially after the signing of the MoU on cooperation between the two judicial institutions in Jakarta in 2011.

“The exchange of visits between the Chief Justice of the Republic of Indonesia and the Supreme Court of Sudan, as well as other leadership elements, most recently the visit of the Sudanese Supreme Court Judge (Administration) Tariq Khalil to Jakarta in February 2023 has made a positive contribution to strengthening RI-Sudan bilateral cooperation,” said the Ambassador.

Furthermore, Ambassador Sunarko underlined the importance of continuing capacity building cooperation, particularly training young judges in the Religious Courts.

Meanwhile, Chief Justice Abdel Aziz warmly welcomed the Indonesian Ambassador’s visit and expressed his commitment to continue to enhance RI-Sudan cooperation, including in the field of training young judges.

The two parties also agreed to renew the existing MoU, as well as open up the widest possible opportunities for cooperation that could be carried out between the judicial institutions of the two countries.
