National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) Sensitizes the General Public against Election Violence in the South South

NEMA South South in collaboration with the Nigerian Red Cross, NYSC and other critical stakeholders carried out a sensitization rally against election violence along the Igwuruta -Airport Road in Ikwerre LGA of Rivers State. The exercise which started from the Igwuruta around about went through the Airport Road and back to the roundabout. While sensitizing the public, the Zonal Coordinator Godwin Tepikor advised them not to engage in any acts capable of instigating violence before, during and after the elections in the zone. On his part, the Head, Disaster Management of the Nigerian Red Cross, Port Harcourt Branch Godwin Izoma, admonished the general public to vote according to their conscience and shun election violence in the State. The sensitization rally was peaceful.
