The acting Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Information, Communications, Science, Technology and Innovation, Mr Thapeli Tjabane says the implementation of NSDP II has been extended to the next five years.

Mr. Tjabane said this in an interview following the official opening of a three-day Information Communication and Technology (ICT) Strategic Session aimed at aligning and implementing NSDP II Strategic Focus, Digital Transformation, and e-government as well as optimization of existing infrastructure.

He said that the objective of the session is to determine where the government is with regard to ICT and discuss the way forward thus what could be done to reach the target.

He noted that they are engaging with the relevant stakeholders as the government aims to have a private-led economy.

Mr. Tjabane said the ICT department strives to stay relevant hence they invited experts from various ICT companies to assist in closing the gaps and help accelerate ICT in the county.

Econet Telecom Lesotho, Microsoft, Engidator, and Talk IT were present stakeholders.
