Philippine Ambassador to Morocco Mr. Leslie J. Baja met with the Speaker of the House of Representatives of Morocco, H.E. Mr. Rachid Talbi Alami on 22 March 2023.

During the meeting, both sides discussed the continuing growth of friendly relations between both countries, with Ambassador Baja highlighting the reopening of the Philippine Embassy in Rabat and the official visit of the Secretary of Foreign Affairs last year in Morocco as recent significant milestones in bilateral relations between the Philippines and Morocco.

Amb. Baja also mentioned the flourishing people to people exchange between both countries and its role in strengthening the links between the Philippines and Morocco, in light of the upcoming commemoration of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations in 2025.

Both sides expressed interest in strengthening interparliamentary cooperation between both countries and further expanding areas of cooperation, including exploring trade and investment opportunities, benefiting from Morocco’s linkages with European and African markets, and the Philippines’ integral position in the ASEAN region.
