President El-Sisi Meets the Prime Minister and the Minister of Civil Aviation

Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with Prime Minister, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Director of the General Intelligence Service, Major General Abbas Kamel, and Civil Aviation Minister, Mohamed Abbas Helmy.

The Spokesman for the Presidency said the meeting followed-up on future plans for the civil aviation sector.

President El-Sisi gave directives to strengthen efforts toward developing the civil aviation sector, as part of plans to improve the management of the state’s resources and capabilities and to make the utmost investment of their economic return. This includes Egypt’s strategic and unique geographic location and a chain of international airports across the state, which provide huge opportunities in the field of air traffic and civil aviation as well as tourism.

The Minister of Civil Aviation offered an overview of the ministry’s plan for future activities as well as work progress in a number of projects which are currently being implemented. Those include the development and modernization of the aircraft fleet, the sound management of the companies affiliated to the sector and the preparation of new pilots and air crews at the highest level. The Minister explained that the strategic objectives of the civil aviation sector are to enhance the efficiency of work performance, continue development and improvement and increase competitiveness.
