The United Arab Emirates, through the International Holding Company (IHC), has provided 800 tonnes of aid to Mozambique to help overcome the challenges caused by Cyclone Freddy. The aid package includes essential items such as food, water, and shelter to assist those affected by the cyclone.

His Excellency Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, stated: “The UAE is committed to providing support to Mozambique and its people in this time of need.  As a long-standing supporter of African nations, it is imperative that we stand by the people of Mozambique and ensure that they receive the support and aid required to guarantee their safety and well-being.”

His Excellency added: “The provision of aid is a testament to the strong bilateral relationship between our two countries, which is built upon our shared values and respect for one another’s culture and heritage.”

This latest aid package is part of the UAE’s ongoing commitment to supporting Mozambique in its efforts to overcome the impact of natural disasters.  The UAE, through the IHC, has been actively participating in humanitarian aid programs worldwide, including by responding to natural disasters, health crises, and refugee emergencies.
