On April 5, 2023 the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Sergei Aleinik, met with the spouse of the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe, Auxillia Mnangagwa, who is currently visiting Belarus. 

The visit of the first lady is taking place in line with the agreements reached during the state visit of the President of Belarus A.Lukashenko to Harare in January 2023.

The visit focuses on healthcare issues, including maternal and child health, cancer treatment and prevention, acquaintance with with the experience of Belarus in these areas, as well as visits to medical institutions, pharmaceutical companies, and baby food enterprises.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the state of Belarusian-Zimbabwean relations, reaffirmed their focus on the full implementation of the agreements reached at the highest level. The sides paid special attention to interaction in the humanitarian sphere, outlined steps to strengthen cooperation in the field of healthcare and medicine, and touched upon the issues of training medical personnel for the Republic of Zimbabwe in Belarus. The parties also considered interaction between women’s public associations.
