The cool air of the city of Khartoum in December and a happy, cheerful atmosphere graced the courtyard of the Indonesian Embassy in Khartoum on Thursday afternoon (8/12) with 20 Sudanese citizens participating in the Indonesian Language class for Foreign Speakers (BIPA) who were present for the closing ceremony of the BIPA Indonesian Embassy in Khartoum 2022.
The Indonesian language class program lasts for 1 month, starting in early November. The series of closing events began with remarks from the representative of the participants, Abdorahim Juma Adam, who expressed his appreciation to the Ambassador and the Indonesian Embassy in Khartoum for giving them the opportunity to learn Indonesian and get to know the richness of Indonesian culture. Abdorahim hopes that in the future the Indonesian Embassy in Khartoum will again be holding advanced BIPA courses for the Sudanese people.
Ambassador Sunarko in his remarks expressed his appreciation to the participants who enthusiastically participated in the Indonesian language class for one month.
Ambassador Sunarko also said that the BIPA class was intended to strengthen relations and brotherhood between the people of the two nations, as well as increase the understanding of the young generation and Sudanese students as true friends of Indonesia about Indonesia with its various aspects, including its language and cultural diversity.
The event continued with the handing over of certificates to the course participants. As a form of appreciation and motivation for the participants, Ambassador Sunarko gave souvenirs in the form of Indonesian batik cloth to the 3 best participants, namely Walaa Mohammed Aldiyab, Marwa Altayib Alaagib and Eissa Thabit Mohamed.
Complementing the evening’s program, the participants displayed their ability and proficiency in daily conversation using the Indonesian language very well in front of Ambassador Sunarko and all other participants.
At the end of the event, the participants were treated to typical Indonesian snacks, namely Bakso Tahu and Es Pisang Hijau while enjoying the strains of Indonesian songs and ending with a group photo.
